I started taking photos when I was about 11 or 12 and washed cars to save up to buy equipment. Before long I was developing and printing my own pictures, years before digital cameras were invented. Like any prolific photographer I've got a few great shots, even from the early days. Now I pay more attention to the whys and wherefores of it and work much harder on each image. I try to tell stories with my pictures - to hint at goings on beyond the frame, both in space and in time.
