Eel Pie Island is a famous Twickenham landmark which can only be reached by this footbridge, or by boat. To get this view you have to stand in a very specific spot on the riverside and look through a long lens. The bridge is dissolving into the air at both ends, so it's more of a metaphysical crossing. There was a figure on the bridge who I painted over, but if you look closely, because the paint is translucent, the ghost of her is still visible just left of centre.
