06-16 Palace of the Crimson King

The inspiration for this painting is more musical than digital. Reading from left to right it begins with silence (black) then builds in a crescendo towards a melody (red/orange) while a bass line and rhythm section dance along below (in shades of blue). In the middle there's an interlude in the bass (this is a painting though, remember) and that structure gives it the title. Finally on the right it fades out to silence again.
